Jack Rozier: “Yeah, I mean, there will always be people whose expectations your experience or background doesn’t meet and that’s fine, right? I think the more you focus on yourself and the people around you who share the spirit and energy you’re trying to bring forward-thinking, optimistic, wanting to create things and solve problems the better. It’s not a straight path; it’s still very much a journey I’m on. But I’ve developed a trust in myself, reinforced by feedback from peers, which makes me feel like hopping onto a podcast is a good idea, something I wouldn’t have sought out or thought to do before. Because of those experiences, maybe talking to you today connects a dot for someone else out there and makes them want to take a risk.”
That commitment to growth naturally extends to how Rozier thinks about team culture:
Rozier on culture: “Culture is a feeling, right? It’s not just words on a wall or on a website. It’s the quality and care in your interactions with people whether that’s coach to coach, coach to player, coach to parent, or player to player. Those are the things we’re actively working to shape and mold every day.”
We also keep things light and fun. Each episode of Heart of the Game features a special trivia segment, paying homage to Dutch football and SciSports heritage.
