Expanded Event Viewer now live on the SciSports platform

SciSports is proud to introduce the Expanded Event Viewer, now live across the platform and delivering a new level of depth, precision, and clarity in match analysis.

Date

22 January 2026

Built on a significantly richer event model, the Expanded Event Viewer transforms how on-ball actions are captured, explored, and understood. With more detail behind every moment, analysts can see the full story of a match — not just isolated events, but the context that shapes them.

A richer event model for deeper insight

The Expanded Event Viewer introduces 198 distinct event types, replacing the previous model of around 50. This expanded coverage enables far more detailed on-ball analysis across all phases of play, from build-up and progression to defending and finishing.

Actions can now consist of multiple underlying events, allowing users to see everything that contributes to a single moment on the pitch. Rather than flattening complex actions into one label, the Event Viewer preserves their full structure and meaning.

Designed for clarity and exploration

To make this added depth intuitive, events are organized into clear, color-coded categories such as Passing, Defending, Finishing, and more. This visual structure helps users scan, filter, and interpret match actions more efficiently.

Exploration has also been improved across both pitch view and table view, making it easier to move between visual context and detailed breakdowns. Whether reviewing key moments or performing deeper analysis, users can navigate match events with greater speed and confidence.

Built for analysts, coaches, and decision-makers

The Expanded Event Viewer is a major step forward in both analysis quality and user experience. It supports performance analysis, tactical review, recruitment workflows, and communication across technical staff by ensuring that every action is presented with the context needed to understand it properly.

Fully integrated across the SciSports platform, the new Event Viewer works seamlessly alongside match reports, benchmarks, and tactical visualizations.

Total Match Clarity

This launch marks the start of Total Match Clarity, SciSports’ new campaign focused on helping users see football matches as they truly unfold action by action, moment by moment.

See every action, understand every moment.
