Last Wednesday (25-10-2017) SciSports opened its office in Amersfoort to make the first edition of the 'Open Football Analytics Night' possible. Established in 2003 by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, thirty European football journalists vote for the Golden Boy, the award for the best player under the age of 21 in Europe. The award has been won by several now-superstars such as Lionel Messi (2005), Sergio Agüero (2007) and Paul Pogba (2013). We wrote about the first list of 98 nominees earlier this year and are back to analyze the last 25 names on Tuttosport's shortlist with our SciSkill Index.Read more

Sweden has proven itself as a country where talent gets the chance to fulfill their potential. Besides clubs from The Netherlands and Belgium, who have a proven track record of scouting in the Scandinavian countries, a lot of clubs from the big 5 countries, Russia and China joined the race for players from the Allsvenskan in the last few years. All looking for the next rising star who is able to develop to the levels of players like Victor Lindelöf and Emil Forsberg.

Since we launched our SciSkill Index in 2015, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were always battling for the number one position as most influential player in the world. Messi surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo on the list earlier this year. After breaking the record for highest transfer fee a few weeks ago, it is once again Neymar-time. At the age of just 25, Neymar reaches the number one spot on our SciSkill Index for the first time. This is also the first time neither Ronaldo nor Messi are the list leaders.

Only seven days to go. The clock is ticking and even though many competitions already started, the transfer window is still on full speed. Maybe Bryan Adams and Kid Rock might disagree, but the summer of 2017 is way more exciting than the summers of ‘69 or ‘89. Our Datascouts supported clubs in the decision process of over forty transfers. Our Intelligence department launched our new web platform Insight at over sixty clubs in seventeen countries. We installed our patented BallJames system in one of the biggest football stadiums in the world and that made us the first company ever to fully-automatically track a Premier League match in 3D.Read more

Since March this year, SciSports is also located in Amersfoort. Due to further growth and to retain the ability to attract potential workforce, an additional office was needed. SciSports was featured in a major article by prestigious German football magazine "Kicker" this week. German journalist Martin Gruener visited SciSports at our headquarters in Enschede, where he interviewed CEO Giels Brouwer and several other employees.
