SciSports recently launched the Match Analysis service for professional and youth football organisations.
Our new offering helps users gain tactical insights on team and player performance via event data and video streams.
Within this four part series – we will introduce the full scope of our product and take a closer look at how it will provide direct benefits to our users.
After covering Event Viewer, Playlists & Folders in Part 1 of the series, in today’s second part we dive deeper into the Match Reports and Custom XML functionality within the Match Analysis module.
Match Reports
The SciSports Match Reports are a comprehensive tool for dissecting team, opponent and individual player performance.
For every match, we provide five PDF Match Reports. This includes a version for the Home Team, Away Team, Home Players, Away Players and a Full Report that combines all of the above.
Our reports are generated using over 50 unique events that take place on the pitch. This allows us to deliver insights such as match momentum – which tells us the story of the match and who is creating more threatening situations during the 90 minutes.
Match momentum tells us about context in which a goal was scored
On a team level, we also provide key statistics and visualisations on how a team performs in passing, chance creation and defending. This includes the team passing network and matrix, main action zones, shot maps, key sequences that lead to shots, set piece insights and much more.
A coach or analyst can review the reports to quickly understand how their team and opponent builds up, where they attack and create chances, and how they score.
On an individual level, we provide a 1-page report for every player with an overview of their actions on the pitch in various phases of the game.
Players can benchmark and compare themselves to others
Players can now get direct and detailed feedback, as the coach can easily highlight what they did well, identify mistakes, and pinpoint areas for improvement ahead of the next games.
Custom Video XML
While the match reports are a great starting point for pre and post-match analysis, our Custom Video XML allows users to work on more in-depth video analysis.
The SciSports Custom Video XML contains our events that can be imported into all major video analysis tools such as Sportscode, MyVideoAnalyser and Nacsport.
Our XML consists of a row per team and player in the exported timeline. Each row contains all events for that team/player and each event type has its own tags, allowing the user to filter for specific events.
Our XML offer a collection of on-ball events on both team and player level
After importing our XML into your analysis tool, users will get a simple overview of the selected events, which they can click in to instantly review relevant moments.
An analyst can now optimize their workflow and save time and effort by easily finding and analyzing important actions within a match.
Stay tuned for two more parts of the ‘Introducing Match Analysis’ series.
