During an assembly of the Dutch House of Representatives, one of the members of the House, Jeroen van Wijngaarden mentioned SciSports in a speech and praised their activities, saying “the accuracy of their predictions is stunning.”
The Dutch House of Representatives is working on new laws according to online gaming and gambling. Jeroen van Wijngaarden is member of the House of Representatives for the VVD and responsible for Security and Justice. In a speech he gave during an assembly, Van Wijngaarden had the following to say about SciSports:
“We offer the sport a better protection against criminals. I would like to point out a startup of the University of Twente. SciSports uses algorithms and pattern recognition to predict player value and can determine the chance of scoring a goal. They work for football organizations all over Europe. The accuracy of their predictions is stunning. The company will be able to recognize aberrant and suspicious patterns. This technique will be a great addition in the battle against matchfixing.”
